Is it possible to efficiently work from home with your pets?
We have been getting used to the new situation for almost two years now. Part of this is the unavoidable working from home, which to a greater or lesser extent is becoming a regular part of contemporary life. Some people like this very much, others have a lot of trouble with it. Finding the right balance between being at home and still maintaining a professional attitude is a problem for many people.
One of the major problems in finding the right balance and tranquility is the presence of the pets at home. They naturally find it very nice that the owner is at home all day. But they also always demand to a greater or lesser extent the attention that you probably need or want to devote to your work. There are ways to ensure that working from home and pets go as smoothly as possible.
Some pets will do anything to stay in your environment. They don’t rest until they are in the room with you and otherwise they will tear the house down. It is advisable not to conflict with this, but to put down a nice basket or cushion for the dog or cat inside your home office. That probably creates more peace of mind than leaving the door closed and annoyed by your busy pet on the other side of that door all day.
Use your breaks to enjoy your pet for a while, those moments ensure that you have peace of mind in the meantime and your pet will probably lie down or sleep satisfied.
Finally, take advantage of the positive aspects of working with your pet at home! It can be really nice to take a refreshing walk in between meetings. Then you can sit back fresh and recharged for your next video meeting. Playing with your cat during the coffee break can also have this effect.
Balance is the magic word, as soon as you get into a nice rhythm in the combination of working from home with pets, this can really be something to look forward to!
